Mt. Whitney Trail & Mirror Lake |
|
|
View from Meadow
The above picture was taken
from a perfect meadow between Lone Pine Lake and Mirror Lake. The meadow
was full of wild flowers and little streams. On one side was the steep
face of the mountains and on the other was a view 10,000 feet down to
the Owens Valley. When I see places like this I am reminded why I don't
need anyone to tell me about God. All I need is this. |

Looking down on Mirror Lake Lake We stopped at Mirror Lake at 10,640 feet for a break. We only had a couple of miles remaining until we reached the trail camp for the night. Mike said that this would be the hardest part of the day and he was right. The elevation started to take effect here, and the trail became steep and rocky. Soon after Mirror Lake we broke the tree line, and entered a new world. |
