There are hundreds of beautiful classic films worth viewing.
Thanks to entrepreneurs and movie lovers like Ted Turner
we can see these films today. If not for the efforts of
Turner and his crew many pieces of movie art would be gone
now. For any student of Stage Theater classic films are
the best education available. Below is a list of the top
classic movies that you must watch and make a part of your
movie collection.

It's a Wonderful Life
It's
a Wonderful Life
is a movie that wasn't much of a hit when it came out, but
over the years it has grown in popularity. I can't remember
a Christmas without watching the movie. It's a Wonderful
Life stars as Jimmy Stewart as Harry Bailey. I think
it was John Lennon that said," Life is what happens
to you while you are busy making other plans." That
lesson is shown in this movie that's about man that wants
to see the world, but keeps getting stuck in his small town.
After thousands of dollars are lost and everything seems
out of control the man decides to take his own life. To
show him the value of his life and angel is sent to earth
where he shows the man what the world would be like without
him.
If you Buy
It's a Wonderful Life make sure you get a black
& white version because the color version just 'isn't right.'
Colorizing the old films is the one mistake Turner did make.
The Wizard of Oz
The Wizard of Oz is another wonderful classic film
that I watched yearly when I was a kid. It is a timeless
movie that kids loved 60 years ago and still do today. This
is a film that will stand the test of time and be around
for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. I don't have to
tell you what this film is about, because if you haven't
seen it you have bigger problems than can be addressed here.
To Kill a Mockingbird
To
Kill a Mockingbird was a hit as a book and equally
successful as a movie. It is fun to see Robert Duval in
one of his earliest roles. This has to be Gregory Peck's
career highlight as he let his talent shine as his character
stood up against tyranny and injustice. This is a classic
film that inspires us to be better and stronger. It's not
often watched like the movies above but it should be.
