Yosemite Half Dome Hike

After working our way past Nevada Falls we traveled through Little Yosemite Valley. After the precipitous slope of the previous miles the flat path through Little Yosemite Valley was a welcome treat. One of the things that make this such a wonderful hike is that the scenery changes often. This was our first view of the back of Half Dome and also several encounters with the very tame mule deer of Yosemite.

Once we saw the sign to the left we knew we were close. The last two miles became steep again. This is where we encountered snow that was up to four feet deep in some places. Once we broke out of the thick forest and reached the ridge we knew we had reached our destination. The view from the ridge was as beautiful as any place in the world can be.
