How to Earn Money with Your Web Site

Now that you have a site how do you generate Internet revenue?

After your site is built you have several options for making money. If you are selling products or services use Google Checkout for an easy to use check-out system. To keep it really simple you can go with an affiliate or ad network. I use both Google Adsense and Commission Junction to earn revenue from my Web sites.

This site earns revenue from Google Adsense. Google Adsense supplies you with easy to add contextual and graphical ads. You select the size and color scheme and place them on your site. Then you sit back and make money when visitors click on the ads. You can click here to If your site isn't ready please bookmark this page and sign up from here later.

To ensure that you are approved make sure your site is complete and all your links and images work before you apply. After you have accounts follow all the rules in the terms of service agreement because Google will cancel your account if you don't. One of the biggies to remember with Google Adsense is to avoid clicking on your own ads.

Another option for making money with your site is to get a Commission Junction account. You have more control over the ads than with Google adsense, but it takes more sophistication. I advise starting with Google Adsense and moving up to CJ after a few months.

So, "how do I make the most money possible with my advertisers?" you might ask. There are several tips for optimizing your Google Adsense ads, but the best tip I can give you is to test, test, test. Everyone has opinions about what works, but you will learn what works for yourself by trying out different things. Play with the color of your ads, the placement; test different copy, change your images; and test some more.

How long before I start to make money?

If you get traffic to your site you can make money the first month. It may only be a few dollars - I think I made about $16 my first month - but as your sites expand and you gain experience this number will increase. The biggest problem I see with new Internet entrepreneurs is that they want instant gratification and are not patient. Keep at it and keep trying new things. You will get it right if you keep at it.

The media has bombarded us with stories of folks that have become online billionaires, but those people are rare, and the reality is that an Internet business take times and attention to become successful - just like any business. The advantage of an Internet business website is that you can get away from it when you want. If you decide to take a vacation your site will wait. If you want to take a risk you can usually do so without a huge expense. And, in the end, if you fail, you have only lost a few hundred dollars and some time. Of course, if you do fail, you've probably learned so much from it that you will succeed the next go round.

I hope this guide helps you. There's a lot more to learn, but the best way to learn is to just get started. I have a list of a few Web sites below that I visit often that will be helpful to you as well. If this information has helped you I hope that you will link back to me from your Web sites and send this to your friends that are interested in making money online.
Best of luck
