Denali liked us and allowed us to look at her. She is such a large mountain that she creates her own weather and even if the surrounding area is clear the mountain is often covered by clouds. We have seen many mountains but Denali is the biggest. I was amazed at the magnitude of the snow covered mass. Denali is The Great One

The end of our Alaskan adventure ended with camping by Wonder Lake. The lake sits 80 miles inside the park and there is only one very long 80 mile road to the campsite. You can't drive your own vehicle to Wonder Lake so you must take one of the park busses. It is a nice way to enjoy the scenery of the park while looking for animals. On our bus trip to Wonder Lake we saw dozens of animals including grizzly bears. It was still light until almost midnight so we walked through the brush around the lake and ate wild berries and looked at the arctic stunted trees. We returned to our camp and watched as the midnight setting sun turned The Great One from blue to pink and every color in between before finally disappearing with the night.
