The first thing you are going to need is a domain name.
Try to select something that has the words in it that represent
what you are trying to sell or discuss. If you are trying
to sell leopard geckos you might select a domain name with
"leopard geckos" in the text. A good and inexpensive
place to buy domain name is through Godaddy.
Registering your domain name is easy. Simply go
to www.GoDaddy.com
and type in your preferred domain name in the text
box on the page. You probably won't get your first choice
so play around with variations.
Tips to remember when selecting a domain are to keep it
as short as possible, select only a .com if available, and
include keywords in the name that represent your product
or service.
Web Site Hosting
After you buy your domain name you will need a host. A
hosting company will store and serve your page and image
files to users that visit your domain name. A good host
is Host
Gator where you can get great hosting for unlimited
domains for a very good price. There are several Host Gator
Hosting Plans to choose from. Even the most basic is probably
enough to get your started. I've never needed anything larger
than the most basic plans, but it depends on how many extras,
pages, images, etc. you'll have on your site.
